Test Types

Aquatox Research currently provides sediment toxicity testing services with two freshwater species, Hyalella azteca (freshwater amphipod, 28-day growth phase), Chironomus tentans (freshwater chironomid, 20-day growth phase), and Lumbriculus variegatus (freshwater oligochaete, 14-day growth phase). AquaTox Research personnel have accumulated a significant level of experience with these species by employing manual renewal methods in both standardized and modified test designs.  Research into the nutritional requirements of Hyallela in 28-day test designs have been generated while a study to develop a reduced sediment volume test design with Lumbriculus has been completed as well.
